EUFAULA, OK -- The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirms it is investigating the McIntosh County Sheriff's Office for official misconduct.

OSBI spokesperson Jessica Brown says McIntosh County DA Robert Giulioni requested their agency open an investigation late Friday.

News of this investigation comes nine months after the former sheriff, Terry Jones, and his undersheriff, Mykol Brookshire, were sentenced in federal court with depriving a motorist of his civil rights.

In June, retired OSBI agent Joe Hogan was named McIntosh County Sheriff.

County officials say Hogan is serving until a special election is held in July. The winner of that election will serve out the remainder of Jones' term.
