JENKS, OK -- There was a scare at Jenks Middle School Wednesday afternoon when a school bus engine caught fire.

No kids were on the bus, and Tulsa firefighters put out the flames quickly.

An employee who helps disabled and handicapped students on buses was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

The bus was left running outside the school as it waited on students. The district believes the engine over-heated.

Jenks Middle School is located at 3019 E 101st Street.
