TULSA, OK -- An American Airlines mechanic is flying high. That's because on Friday Ron Brown received the FAA's prestigious "Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award."
The award recognizes the lifetime accomplishments of senior mechanics.
Brown has been an aviation mechanic since 1956 and says he's not planning on retiring anytime soon.
"Still enjoy what I'm doing. Of course, the people are great here, so I enjoy my time here yet," said Ron Brown, AA Maintenance Technician.
Family, friends and co-workers were there to help Brown celebrate. The award he received is named after the Wright brothers' engineer.
