TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa school got a big donation Thursday when Kumon Centers donated nearly 600 books to the Franklin Youth Academy.
The reading centers put out a call its students, parents, businesses and civic groups for books. What they got range from classics to modern-day mysteries.
"What it does is help student learn to love reading, instead of making reading something they have to do at school," said Franklin Principal Ava Fisher.
"Reading is something that they should enjoy, when they're relaxing, instead of watching TV or playing video games. Sit down and read a good book."
Each student at Franklin Youth Academy will get two books to own. The other books will be put into the school library.
