CHECOTAH, OK -- Checotah Police are looking for a man they say attacked two women in Checotah with the intention of robbing them.
The man is described as very thin, 5'6" to 5'8" with shoulder length reddish blonde hair.
The first attack happened at about 2 p.m. Sunday, January 12 according to Checotah Assistant Chief of Police Darren Glover. The female victim was vacuuming her car at a local car wash, and the man came up behind her and knocked her down. He took a bag of coins with some receipts and took off.
In a second attack about 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, the suspect came up behind another woman standing at her car, knocked her down and then hit her in the face giving her a black eye.
The woman's daughter started screaming, and the man took off.
Glover said he is especially concerned about these attacks because of the accelerated aggression between the first and second incident.
The Checotah Police Department is investigating the assaults and increasing patrols in the area of the attacks.
