Green Country Celebrates With Christmas Parades

Thousands of people from across Green Country bundled up Saturday evening for the 2009 PSO Holiday Parade of Lights in downtown Tulsa.

TULSA, OK -- Thousands of people from across Green Country bundled up Saturday evening for the 2009 PSO Holiday Parade of Lights in downtown Tulsa.

Owasso Christmas Parade

Billed as one of Tulsa's best holiday traditions, the PSO Holiday Parade of Lights includes brightly decorated floats, marching bands, dance teams, specialty groups and even some giant helium filled balloons.

Thousands lined the streets to check out this year's fun floats. The News On 6 spotted some brave souls spreading holiday cheer in kilts. Others tap danced their way to warmth.

News On 6 Anchors Scott Thompson and Terry Hood were in the parade, along with Meteorologists Travis Meyer and Alan Crone. Six in the Morning's LeAnne Taylor and Rich Lenz stayed up late for all the fun. And The Oklahoma Impact Team's Jennifer Loren was seen pounding the pavement, talking with folks.

Collinsville, Owasso and Glenpool also had community Christmas parades Saturday morning. News On 6 Anchor Craig Day emceed the Owasso parade. This year's theme: "A Storybook Christmas."

It was "A Cartoon Christmas" in Collinsville. News On 6 Anchors LeAnne Taylor, Craig Day and sports reporter JB Long participated in the parade.
