Senators say they've reached a compromise in their healthcare reform plan.
Liberal and moderate Democrats were at odds over the so-called public option but they've worked out an alternative which would create a new national insurance program that would provided by private insurance companies.
The government would negotiate for good rates just like it does now for federal workers.
It would also lower the age for Medicare to 55, which would allow more Americans to buy in to the popular program.
"Is it the perfect bill? No. The fact is even if we pass something. We're gonna come back and amend and change it and get it right," said Senator Mark Warner, (D)-Virginia.
But Senate Republicans aren't all on board. Many are afraid the bill is still being rushed through before lawmakers head home for break.
