UNDATED -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol worked two early morning wrecks involving injury Sunday morning, including a teenage girl who was hurt after exiting a moving vehicle.

Megan R. Kurtz of Goltry, 17, was a passenger in a 2004 Pontiac SUV driven by Grant Kurtz, 44, also of Goltry. According to a report by Trooper Joshua Byrd, Kurtz was belted into the passenger seat just before she "exited the vehicle while it was still in motion" at about 8:55 a.m.

The accident took place on State Highway 132 just north of U.S. 412 in Garfield County.

She was transported by Gary Kurtz to Bass Hospital in Enid then transferred to OU Medical Center in serious condition with head injuries.

Two men from Oneonta, Alabama were hospitalized after their vehicle went airborne off Interstate 40 near Vian at about 5:23 a.m.

According to the trooper's report, driver Randy Neal Whitt, 54, was sleepy, and his 2003 Chevy Silverado left westbound I40 to the right for about 324 feet before going airborne for 85 feet. The truck landed on the roadway of State Highway 82, striking a guardrail and coming to rest.

Whitt was admitted with head and internal injuries to Sequoyah Memorial Hospital in Sallisaw. His condition was listed as stable. Passenger Altie Eugene Wilkerson, 51, was transported to Sparks Medical Center in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, with head, arm and leg injuries. He was also listed in stable condition.

Both men were wearing seatbelts at the time of the wreck.
