MAYES COUNTY -- Investigators have now released new information in the death of a volunteer firefighter. The body of 39-year-old Michael Cobb was found in his home after it burned to the ground in April.
Investigators now say he was murdered.
The fire that destroyed Cobb's home was ruled arson several months ago, and this latest revelation confirms what family and friends have suspected all along.
"He was more than just a partner and friend of mine. He was like a brother to me," said Donny Jordan, Michael Cobb’s friend.
More than six months after the death of Michael Cobb, simply talking about it is difficult for his best friend Donny Jordan.
The 39-year-old father of three died in April after his home was destroyed by fire. Authorities say it was deliberately started with an accelerant.
The state Medical Examiner's Office now says Cobb died from blunt force trauma and smoke inhalation.
Jordan is offering $10,000 dollar reward for tips that lead to an arrest.
"Someone knows something. Eventually it will come out. I wish I could afford more. I'd offer everything I own to get it out," Jordan said.
Jordan and Cobb bonded while starting a deer business together. He says the Osage Volunteer Firefighter and plant foreman was a devout family man who enjoyed coaching his daughter's softball team.
"Couldn't meet a better guy,” said Cobb’s best friend Donny Jordan. “He changed my life. Mike brought out the best in everyone. Never met anyone he didn't like, or who didn't like him."
Jordan says he and Cobb's family remain heartbroken six months after the fire. But now that this death has been ruled a homicide, he hopes there will be some justice for the friend he will never forget.
"Not a time goes by that I don't think of him. This is kinda hard," Jordan said.
Anyone with information about the homicide or the fire is asked to call the Mayes County Sheriff's Office at 918-825-3535.

McKee says Cobb's motorcycle was also missing and still has not been found.
A memorial fund has been established to benefit the victim's 6-year-old twins. Donations can be made at the RCB Bank branch in Pryor.
