Broken Arrow House Fire Cause Ruled Accidental

A 62-year-old Broken Arrow man remains in a Tulsa hospital after firefighters rescued him from his burning home early Wednesday morning.

BROKEN ARROW, OK -- A 62-year-old Broken Arrow man remains in a Tulsa hospital after firefighters rescued him from his burning home early Wednesday morning. 

Broken Arrow Fire got the call at 6:18 a.m. about a fire in a home in the 3700 block of South Sycamore. 

Deputy Chief James Suddath says firefighters found the man in a front bedroom of the home. 

Suddath says at last word, Larry Glenn Teel remains on a ventilator at a Tulsa hospital.  There is no word on his condition.

A Broken Arrow firefighter also injured his back during the rescue and was taken to the hospital.  He was treated and released.

Suddath says the fire started in a couch in the living room of the home and they believe the cause was accidental.  

Damage to the home was estimated at between $80,000 - $100,000.
