TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police have arrested a suspect in a fatal stabbing at a class reunion over the weekend.
Larry Dale Lewis, 49, has been booked into the Tulsa County jail on a complaint of first degree murder.
Rodwick Cardy was stabbed in the upper torso during McLain's class of '77 reunion at the Sax Martini Lounge on 6th Street and Elgin Saturday at about 9 p.m.
Cardy died of his wounds later that evening at a Tulsa hospital.
Lewis and Cardy got into a physical altercation inside the club when Lewis pulled a knife and stabbed the victim several times, according to a Tulsa Police arrest report.
Lewis turned himself into police at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday. He told police where to find the knife he had used in the stabbing and also told them where he had hidden the blood-stained shirt he was wearing that night.
Tulsa Police responded to the stabbing at 9:17 p.m., according to Sgt. Michael Brown, TPD. Larry Lewis was at the reunion event and was sought as a person of interest.
"We haven't received much cooperation from witnesses," Sgt. Michael Brown said outside the bar Saturday night. Police did learn that Lewis attends all the events of the McLain class of '77.
It is not known whether the victim was also attending the reunion. Lewis told police that the victim mistook him for someone who had "tried to start a fight with him at the Morning Star apartment complex."
Lewis also claimed that the man hit him and took him to the ground, and that he then pulled out a knife and stabbed Clardy several times.
