TULSA, OK -- The state Department of Transportation says work will begin Monday morning on a $12 million project to improve the U.S. Highway 75 intersection with 111th Street South.
In an ODOT news release, the project will eliminate the traffic light at the intersection and build an overpass for 111th Street South traffic.
Work will also include ramp improvements and an access road on the west side of U.S. Highway 75 between 111th Street South and 121st Street South.
ODOT says the first phase of the project will have the contractor building a temporary detour road for 111th Street South just north of the intersection.
Officials say all lanes of U.S. Highway 75 at the intersection will be open during 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The project is expected to take a year to complete.
