TULSA, OK -- Staff Sergeant Shane Codding, an Oklahoma Marine just days away from being part of history, will be featured in a special interview with LeAnne Taylor at about 6:10 a.m. Friday on Six in the Morning.
Codding will soon be the highest ranking non-commissioned Marine officer on the USS New York.

"While I was at Northeastern State, my roommate in college was actually a Marine Corp reservist, so he kind of, once he got mobilized and he started doing his tours and the towers fell, I knew at that point that I wanted to go ahead and join the service," said SSgt. Shane Codding, a Copan native.
"And because of him, I joined the Marine Corp and from there it's just been an incredible experience. I love what I do and I'm proud to be out here doing what I do."
Codding has been on five deployments including in Iraq and Afghanistan.
