TULSA, OK -- A Bixby police officer opened fire at the end of a chase that ended in a crash in south Tulsa Tuesday morning.
Police say the chase began at 8 a.m. at 111th and Memorial after a Bixby police officer attempted to make a traffic stop because of what Bixby Police say was an improper tag decal.
Police say the driver of the pickup truck took off, winding through several neighborhoods and business parking lots before coming to a stop near 71st and Sheridan when the pickup crashed into a car.
Bixby Police say the officer got out of his patrol car and fired two shots at the tires of the pickup truck.
Officers say the pickup truck lost a wheel in the crash but kept going, travelling another 100 feet before stopping behind a nearby business.
Police say the two people in the pickup truck jumped out and ran, but Tulsa Police apprehended one in a nearby store and 35-year-old Damon Caldwell in a nearby alley.
The passenger, a 23-year-old woman, according to Bixby Police was cooperating with their investigation.
Tulsa Police say the people in the car involved in the wreck at 71st and Sheridan were not injured.
Bixby Police and Tulsa Police are still investigating the incident.
