TULSA, OK -- An off-duty Tulsa Police officer was one of three victims in a bar shooting early Sunday. Tulsa Police Corporal Mark Shelton, 45, has been released from the hospital, according to a police department spokesperson. Shelton was shot twice.
The other shooting victims were the bar owner and a patron, Kenneth McMahan, 44, and Arnll Bennett, 36.
None of the injuries are life-threatening, however McMahan and Bennett remained hospitalized as of Sunday afternoon.
According to EMSA spokeswoman Tina Wells, the three each sustained significant traumatic injuries and were reported to be in serious condition when paramedics transferred them to Tulsa hospitals.
Corporal Shelton was picking up his wife from her job at Kenny Mac's, an east Tulsa bar at 1133 South Memorial Drive at about 2:55 Sunday morning when someone opened fire on the bar.
The bar was closed and staff was cleaning up.
"We had eight to 10 shots fired into the building," said Captain Shawn King of the Tulsa Police Department. "Nobody really saw anything outside of the bar."
King said they initially thought they had a suspect fleeing on foot, but that it turned out to be a witness from the bar leaving through the back door.
Bar owners say there was no fighting or trouble earlier in the night.
"We're trying to track down some information, but as of right now we don't have anything," he said early Sunday morning.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS.
