Alcohol A Factor In Sand Springs Wreck

According to a trooper's report, alcohol apparently played a role in a head-on collision that sent two people to the hospital Saturday morning.

SAND SPRINGS, OK -- Alcohol apparently played a role in a head-on collision that sent three people to the hospital Saturday morning.

According to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Bryan Scott Capehart, 39, of Mounds was driving his 1996 Chevy pickup westbound in the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 412 at just after 1 a.m. when he hit another vehicle head-on.

His car struck a 1998 Toyota Camry driven by Bethany Quiring, 22, of Collinsville. Sand Springs Firefighters used the jaws of life to rescue the two drivers and a passenger in Quiring's car.

Capehart was admitted to St. Francis with leg injuries, and Quiring was taken to St. John Hospital with arm, leg and head injuries. Ethan Sinclair Parker, 20, of Bartlesville was a passenger in Quiring's car. He was treated and released with arm injuries.

According to the trooper's report, Capehart had the odor of alcohol, and driving under the influence contributed to the accident.
