Blood Donors Got Free Pizza In Broken Arrow

BROKEN ARROW, OK -- Share the gift of life and a Broken Arrow restaurant shared the gift of dinner.

Papa Murphy's at 2000 West Houston Street in Broken Arrow gave free pizza to anyone who donated blood Friday evening.

Michael Kelly admits the pizza is a nice perk, but he donates because he has a rare blood type. And donating makes him feel better.

"I have a little more energy. Sometimes if I don't donate I start to feel sluggish and slow and in the summertime it helps me feel a little bit cooler," said Michael Kelly.

Kelly also points out; it's a holiday weekend, when blood supplies typically run low.

The Oklahoma Blood Institute also awarded donors their choice of OU or OSU T-shirts for taking time out to give.
