TULSA, OK -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has ID'ed the victim in an early Thursday morning traffic fatality on the Turner Turnpike.
The OHP says the driver was Billy Ray Prescott, 63, of Tulsa.
Troopers say Prescott's 70's model Ford pickup collided head-on with a 2004 Peterbilt semi-truck near mile marker 218 in Creek County.
According to the OHP report, Prescott was driving the wrong way in the westbound lanes when his pickup collided with the semi-truck near the Turnpike's Tulsa gate.
Prescott was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene, according to the trooper's report.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
The OHP says traffic in the westbound lanes was shut down as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
The accident is under investigation.
