JENKS, OK -- Jenks Police are investigating three business burglaries this week.

The victims went to work Tuesday and found broken glass, missing money and in one case, a trail of the suspect's blood.

Becky Rathbone got to work Tuesday morning, to be greeted by a broken front glass door. She leaves the cash register empty and open, so the thieves didn't tear anything up and for that she's thankful. However, she says she's still not happy about shelling out $200 for a new glass door.

"We're all small businesses and it's a hard time right now and we don't need those extra costs," said Becky Rathbone, of Rathbone Flowers.

The thieves also hit next door at Cecil's Tires. They also broke the glass door and in that case, headed straight for the register and got about $100. The good news is it's a rare occurrence.

"Been in business here 24 years and it's our second break-in and on both occasions, didn't lose anything of significance," said Jan Logan, of Cecil's Tires.

Unfortunately, for Daily Garage Sale, also on Main Street in Jenks, they've only been in business for three months and they've already had their first break-in. The burglars broke in through the backdoor and must've gotten a cut, because there was a blood trail from the door to the register, which they tore up and then emptied.

"Seven-hundred dollars and we were going to use that to pay our bills, for overhead, gotta start somewhere," said Janet Gale, of Daily Garage Sale.

They are also looking at $4,000 in damages, another big blow to a new business.

The burglars were after nothing but cash in all three break-ins.

Jenks police say there were three officers on duty from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., then there were two. Officers say that's typical staffing for the city of 16,000 people.

Officers don't know exactly when the break-ins happened, sometime after the businesses closed on Monday and before they opened on Tuesday.
