COWETA, OK -- Rick Bryan, a two-time OU All-American, died overnight Saturday night at the age of 47.  Bryan reportedly died from congestive heart failure.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Coweta High School gym.

From 1980 to 1983, Bryan was a dominant force on the Sooner defensive line.

The three-time All-Big Eight player surpassed Lee Roy Selmon in his senior year for most career tackles by a lineman, with 365.

Bryan was later selected 9th overall in the 1984 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons, where he spent nine seasons.

Rick Bryan is survived by his wife and three children, including TU linebacker Mike Bryan and Coweta High School Basketball Player Jenni Bryan.
