TURLEY, OK -- A group of graduate students from the University of Oklahoma is hunting for hunger in Turley. The team is trying to get 500 Turley residents to complete a survey on the community's nutrition.
The interviews will help gauge the need for healthy food and nutrition programs.
"There's a children's lunch program every day at Cherokee Elementary and it's just for the summer. By boy, we'd love to expand that so we can feed children and hopefully feed families that need our help," said OU Graduate Assistant Donna Spivey.
The researchers are throwing a party next weekend with free food and music. They hope Turley residents will attend and volunteer to help with their survey.
