TULSA, OK -- A discussion over training records for Tulsa firefighters heated up a Tulsa City Council meeting on Tuesday morning. Several councilors want an audit to verify that firefighters have training that qualifies them for a bump in pay.
The union said its members won't answer any questions unless the city offers them immunity, but the Tulsa Fire Chief said the records are now correct.
"And, I can also tell you I've never lied to this council, and I never will. If you think we're making these records up, we're not. These are records that exist. We finally got them into the database and we can pull the records together," said Tulsa Fire Chief Alan LaCroix.
Councilors Westcott, Bynum and Eagleton want the audit to go forward, but the council plans to discuss the issue again next Tuesday.
