TULSA, OK -- Oklahoma transportation officials have taken the first step towards getting a high-speed rail in the state.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has applied for federal funding to get the Obama backed project started.
The railway would run from Tulsa to the Texas state line and cost about $2 billion to build.
If approved, work could start as early as next year and take six years to complete.
