UNDATED -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol graduated 25 new troopers on Friday afternoon. The academy was the patrol's smallest class in more than a decade.
"Certainly one benefit of this small academy was that cadets received more focused instruction than they would with a larger group which is true in any educational setting," said Academy Commandant Lt. Brent Sugg.
The cadets include a chef, a helicopter pilot, and a former minor league baseball pitcher. The oldest is a 40-year-old retired Marine.
