TULSA, OK -- Despite clear skies on Thursday, City of Tulsa crews were battling water problems. A water main broke at 11th and Garnett, flooding the street and creating quite a mess. Crews rushed out to make repairs. But, four businesses lost water for about half the day.
Another water main broke outside a home near 41st Street and East 122nd Place. The homeowner says at first she thought someone was trying to break in, so she grabbed her gun. But, then she said it sounded almost like a tornado, so she called her mom for help.
"I said no mom, there's something going on. It's raining in front of my house, but not behind my house," said homeowner Kerry Mitchell.
Mitchell says water was shooting about a hundred feet into the air and rocks were smashing into the house.
