Broken Arrow Fire Chief Suspended

BROKEN ARROW, OK -- Broken Arrow's Fire Chief has been placed on administrative leave.

In a news release from the city of Broken Arrow Monday morning, officials say Fire Chief Jackie Carner is on administrative leave with pay and Deputy Fire Chief Steve Jarrett is now acting Fire Chief.

Keith Sterling, Director of Communications for the city of Broken Arrow, says he is unable to talk further about the announcement because it is a city personnel matter.

Carner was hired by the city of Broken Arrow last summer.

Carner had been the fire chief of Sapulpa since 1994 when he took the job in Broken Arrow.
