Tulsa Suspect In Rental Scheme Bonds Out Of Jail

A Tulsa man charged with two felonies of obtaining money by false pretense or con has bonded out of the Tulsa County jail.

Editor's note: The State dismissed Count 2 against Remington in June of 2009. On June 25, 2012, Judge James Caputo ordered Count 1 dismissed with prejudice. The judge ordered Remington's record with regard to Count 1 be expunged, since Remington had satisfied the conditions set out by the court after pleading no contest.

TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa man charged with two felonies in what prosecutors call a scheme to defraud tenants has been arrested and released. 

The arrest comes after an investigation by News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright in February.

According to people Fullbright interviewed in her story, 35-year-old Mike Remington was gaining access to empty, foreclosed homes and renting them to unsuspecting tenants.

Tulsa County prosecutors filed two felony counts of obtaining money by false pretense or con against Remington on Monday.

He was booked into the Tulsa County jail Tuesday morning and released on bond early Tuesday evening.
