TULSA, OK -- Tulsa's Brady District could become home a new musical museum. The Oklahoma Historical Society wants to build an Oklahoma Pop Museum featuring popular music and culture enjoyed by Oklahomans.
"Popular culture is all around us. It's the image we think we know about our community. Popular culture is the creativity that emanates from our people. It helps create our shared memory," said Dr. Bob Blackburn with the Oklahoma Historical Society.
The museum will be 45,000 square feet and include exhibits on music, movies, radio and television. The project is expected to cost $33 million and will take three years to complete.
The Kaiser Family Foundation has already donated $1 million to help launch the project.
