Passing Of A Bartlesville Icon

BARTLESVILLE, OK -- A notable Bartlesville attorney has passed away. Ninety-one-year-old Richard Kane died Monday afternoon at his home.

Mr. Kane was born in October, 1917 in Bartlesville.

Bartlesville's Richard Kane Elementary School is named after him.

Kane was active in many Bartlesville organizations.

He served as President of Rotary, chamber of Commerce, YMCA, Salvation Army Advisory Board, Washington County Bar Association, and Hillcrest Country club.

He also served on the boards of the Cherokee Area Boy Scouts, Bluestem Girl Scouts, Bluestem Cattleman's Association and the Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra.

Funeral services for Kane are set for Thursday at 3 p.m. at Bartlesville's St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
