TULSA, OK -- A resentencing began on Monday afternoon in a deadly case of child abuse.
A Tulsa father, Carlis Ball, was convicted in 2006 of first degree murder in the death of his 2-year-old son Keenan Taylor. The toddler was critically scalded after his father poured boiling water on him.
Ball was sentenced to two life terms. One was for murder. The second was for child neglect.
The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals ordered a new sentencing for Ball because jurors were not told Ball would serve 85% of his sentences before being eligible for parole.
