JENKS, OK -- Where was your high school prom? Was it someplace really cool? The News On 6's Rick Wells admits his was so long ago he can't remember. But, lots of high school seniors have now found an exciting spot for their proms, complete with a disco ball and live sharks.
The Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks has become perhaps the hottest prom spot in the Tulsa-area this year.
"I think we have 11 proms this year and have more booked already for next year," said Teri Bowers with the Oklahoma Aquarium.
Teri Bowers is the Chief Operating Officer of the Oklahoma Aquarium. She says prom goers love it because the entire facility is open for them to explore.
While they can't swim with the sharks, they can feed the turtles carrot strips.
Oologah High School had its prom at the aquarium a few weeks back.
In the movie Back to the Future, they had an Enchantment Under the Sea Dance, but they didn't have 20 sharks swimming over top and all around.
The Oklahoma Aquarium is available for other special events, too.
