TULSA, OK -- Blue ribbons lined Boston Avenue on Monday to commemorate Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention month.

Volunteers tied ribbons to 27 trees as a reminder that children's safety is everyone's responsibility.

A blue ribbon is the international sign for child abuse prevention.

The number 27 is special because 27 babies are born in Tulsa County each day.

Tulsa County had more than 8,400 reports of child abuse and neglect. Nearly 4,000 of those were considered legitimate cases.
