MUSKOGEE, OK -- A Eufaula man accused leading a drug ring has been sentenced to more than 20 years in federal prison.

Johnny Edward Smith, 31, admitted he recruited more than a dozen family members and offered them expensive vacations as incentive to keep selling.

U.S. Attorney Sheldon Sperling has said Smith's operation supplied drugs in the eastern half of the state.

A federal grand jury indicted Smith and 13 others in March 2008.

Smith pleaded guilty in October.

Federal investigators say the drug ring was broken up after a three-year undercover investigation.

A federal judge in Muskogee also imposed a $4 million judgment against Smith.
