TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa Police officer is honored for his quick thinking.  Officer Jack Hester was awarded the 2008 Hit of the Year Award for his involvement in the high-speed chase and capture of Brandon Brixey.

Tulsa Police say Brixey stole a car with three children inside last June.  Officer Hester threw down his stop-sticks to deflate Brixey's tires, ending the chase.

"Vehicles can't go with flat tires, and he was going fast, I think the chief said 90 I think there were reports that he was going faster than that. So yeah, he was moving very fast when he came by me," said Tulsa Police Officer Jack Hester.

Brixey was arrested and charged with kidnapping, robbery and eluding police.
