OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A pilot program involving researchers at the University of Oklahoma and UCLA will seek to give people in rural areas better access to dental care.
American Dental Association President John Findley is to announce the Community Dental Health Coordinator program on Friday at the OU Health Sciences Center.
The program will study the use of a new type of health professional called a community dental health coordinator. The coordinator would work in rural areas and other parts of the country that don't have easy or regular access to routine dental care.
The coordinator would be a part of a dental team that included a dentist.
