Area Bank Robbery Suspects Charged

TULSA, OK -- Two local bank robbery suspects have been charged in federal court.

Ronald Stewart, 72, of Council Hill, was arrested in connection with the hold-up at Utica Square's Commerce Bank last month. He is accused of making off with $72,000.

John Duran, 56, of Broken Arrow, was charged with attempted bank robbery and possession of a firearm.

Police say Duran was tackled by a Broken Arrow bank manager and a couple of customers before he could pull off his heist.
