High School Coach Sentenced In Sex Case

A former Norman basketball coach and teacher is sentenced to two years in prison for a sex crime involving a 16-year-old female student.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- A judge has sentenced a former Norman North High School basketball coach and teacher to two years in prison for a sex crime involving a 16-year-old female student.

Vicky Lynn Lewallen was accused of having a sexual relationship with the student two years ago. Oklahoma law requires that she serve at least 85 percent of her prison sentence.

Eight additional years of prison time was suspended.

The student testified at the preliminary hearing for the 45-year-old woman that the relationship was consensual.
