Bill Would Ban Gender-Based Abortions

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- The Oklahoma Senate is debating legislation to limit abortions.

The new rules would ban doctors from granting abortions if the mother doesn't want the child simply because of its gender.  Authors say the practice is commonplace in nations like China and they don't want it to become the norm here.

The bill already has approval from the Oklahoma House.
