Thousands Of Oklahomans Still Waiting For Power

There is good news for OG&E customers Friday, but the same cannot be said for the at least 5 rural electric cooperatives in eastern Oklahoma.

UNDATED -- There is good news for OG&E customers Friday. The utility company is reporting there are no outages that effect 50 or more customers.

But the same cannot be said for the at least 5 rural electric cooperatives in eastern Oklahoma.

At last check, more than 17,000 electric cooperative customers are without power. Most of those without power are with the Ozarks Electric Coop in the Stilwell area.

Here are the latest figures according to the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives or OAEC

  • Ozarks Electric Cooperative, Stilwell:                         10,082
  • Lake Region Electric Cooperative, Hulbert:                  5,247
  • East Central OK Electric Cooperative, Okmulgee:        2,000
  • Cookson Hills Electric Cooperative, Stigler/Sallisaw:       150
  • Kiamichi Electric Cooperative, Wilburton:                          50
    TOTAL OUTAGES from five (5) Electric Co-ops:            17,529
