IRVING, TEXAS -- University of Tulsa junior center Jerome Jordan was named the Conference USA Men's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced on Monday by the league office. This is Jordan's fourth Player of the Week honor this season.
Jordan, a 7'0" center from Kingston, Jamaica, helped the Golden Hurricane record a 19-point win over Marshall, while dropping a one-point decision to Memphis last week. He averaged 22.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.0 assists in those two contests, while shooting 56-percent from the field and 89-percent from the free-throw line.
Jordan registered a double-double in both games, tying for a league-best seven this season and 14 in his career. Against Memphis, he tallied 20 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks and three assists in 40 minutes, and against Marshall he scored a career-best 25 points and added 10 rebounds and three blocks in 31 minutes.
