TULSA, OK -- Tulsa County schools have recorded more cafeteria violations since 2005 than schools in any other Oklahoma county.

In the nearly four-year period, Tulsa County cafeterias collected 5,612 violations, three times more than Cleveland County cafeterias, which had the second most write-ups.

Tulsa County cafeterias are listed with about four times more violations than schools in Oklahoma County, according to an Oklahoma Department of Health database.

The data include inspections for cafeterias, concession stands, snack bars and university dining areas.

Most were minor violations, such as bad lighting and poorly built walls and ceilings. Other violations were more severe and could be dangerous to children. They include using inaccurate
thermometers and storing food at the wrong temperature.
