TULSA, OK -- A handicapped Tulsa resident had to be rescued from his home after it caught fire Friday afternoon.
The home was located in the 2500 block of West 45th Street.
Tulsa Fire says heavy smoke was pouring from the home by the time firefighters arrived on scene.
A second resident of the home, a woman, was able to make it outside safely. Both the man and the woman refused medical treatment.
The home sustained heavy damage from the fire.
Fire officials say the fire started in the home's heater closet and spread to the home's attic.
