SAND SPRINGS, OK -- Sand Springs Police arrested a 13-year-old girl for assaulting a teacher. It happened Monday at Boyd Middle School.
A substitute teacher, Rebecca Williams, said the student had a camera in class, and after she tried to take it away, the student shoved and punched her.
"The student took the teacher forcibly up against some lockers in the hallway and hit the teacher several times causing injury," said Sand Springs Assistant Police Chief Mike Carter.
The teacher was left with bruises but refused medical treatment at the scene. The superintendent says she was back at school Tuesday.
The student was taken into juvenile detention.
