WHISTLER, British Columbia (AP) - Canadian police say a skier and a snowboarder have been killed in separate avalanches at Whistler resort in British Columbia.
Authorities say the latest fatality happened Thursday when a snowboarder was swept off Whistler Mountain. An avalanche on another nearby mountain killed a skier Wednesday. Police say both men were in areas marked off-limits.
The two deaths come just days after back-to-back avalanches claimed the lives of 8 snowmobilers in the same province.
Avalanche warnings are currently in effect for much of southern British Columbia.
