Burlington Northern Headed For Layoffs

UNDATED -- Burlington Northern Santa Fe is beginning its seasonal layoffs.

A railroad spokesperson says there just isn't much freight traffic right now, so it's reducing its workforce.

It does expect to re-hire those workers when things pick back up.

In the meantime, the employees laid off will have the option to take open positions elsewhere.

There's no word on how the layoffs will affect Tulsa workers.
