TULSA, OK -- Tulsa is hosting the Women’s Pro Rodeo Association Finals at the Tulsa Fairgrounds. Competition begins Wednesday, November 19 and runs through Saturday, November 22.
"It’s a lot of work - it really is, but at the end of the day when somebody comes out and says I’d love to be doing what you’re doing, you know you’re blessed with an opportunity," says Jackie Hobbs WPRA all-around cowgirl.
Hundreds of women from more than 30 states and Canada will be riding and roping throughout the week.
"Friday and Saturday we have performances, we’ll have tie-down calf roping, break-away roping, team roping, and a lot of barrel racing. Anybody that enjoys rodeo or has never seen a rodeo they’ll all enjoy it," says WPRA Director Emogene Fyffe.
Events during the week are free. Friday night's general admission tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children ages 7-12. Saturday's general admisstion tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children. Kids age six and under receive free admission.
