COWETA, OK -- Some say practice, is just practice.
But for the Coweta Tigers, practice has made them nearly perfect.
"I want practice to be fast. I want it to press the kids and if you're not coaching them up between downs, they're going to make the same mistakes," said Coweta coach Bubba Burcham.
Coweta's new coach has his players moving a mile a minute, playing loud and proud.
"It gets me fired up as a player," said linebacker Amos Cherry. "He's not scared to get at you if you're not doing your job - that's for sure. I like his coaching style. I think it's something we needed to add to our program."
"It's very loud and very upbeat," said Tigers quarterback Dillon Vaughn. "Everything's at the fastest pace you can do it at - no less."
All this work has also meant speedy success. The Tigers claimed the 5A-4 district title and shut out league favorite, East Central.
"After beating them, we were like, ‘man we can beat anybody,'" Cherry said. "We're beating East Central 24-0. We're shutting them out. That's giving us the momentum that we can beat anybody in the state now."
