TULSA, OK -- For just a dollar you can buy either a McCain or Obama cookie at Merritt's Bakery. Merritt's and affiliated bakeries across the United States are keeping tabs on the sale of these politically charged treats. So how are the candidates doing in this sugary sampling?

"McCain is ahead in Oklahoma by a few points," said owner Bobbie Merritt.  "But, then when we go to the national retail bakers, Obama is ahead by several points and McCain is behind."

"I think it's as good as any poll because I think they're very slanted," said customer Brenda Freyaldenhoven.

After the election, the bakery will be offering President-elect cookies for sale.
