BROKEN ARROW, OK -- A judge has rejected a motion by three Broken Arrow school board members to stop a grand jury petition against them.
Tulsa County District Court judge Rebecca Nightingale denied a request to reconsider her October 22 order allowing a petition drive to proceed.
Businessman John Lare's petition calls for a grand jury investigation of the three school board members, Maryanne Flippo, Sharon Whelpley and Shari Wilkins.
Lare says the petition is asking for an investigation into charges of willful neglect in office, gross partiality in office and willful maladministration on the part of Flippo, Whelpley and Wilkins.
For more information about the petition, Lare has a web site set up with copies of the petition and an explanation why he is conducting the petition drive.
