TULSA, OK -- They're students stepping out to help others. On Tuesday, students from Mingo Valley Christian School took part in Serve-a-thon.
The event is a fundraiser where the students collect pledges based on hours of service work they do. Some students helped sort clothes at John 3-16, others cleaned at the Salvation Army, and some even stepped in to help build a house for Habitat for Humanity.
"We're just out here to help serve the community and help better people's lives," said student Derek Doak.
The money the students raise will go to help fund their school and student leadership groups.
